The proposed Bromelton SDA footprint is bordered by:

  • 27km of the Logan River on the eastern side, and;
  • 5km of the Teviot Brook on its northern boundary

This industrial estate and associated rail head and highways, is nestled between the proposed Wyaralong Dam (in the west) and the new town water supply off-take weir at Cedar Grove (downstream to the east).  Refer to the approximate location of the Bromelton SDA in the figure adjacent.

Scientific evidence gathered by the SEQ Healthy Waterways Partnership (a partnership of the best water quality scientific team in SEQ, led by the State Government), has consistently shown a decline in water quality in the Logan River due to high levels of development and lack of appropriate enforcement of the current legislative and planning controls.
